| Description: | Wakulla Correctional Institution in Crawfordville, FL (located 16 miles south of Tallahassee, FL) is opening an annex facility adjacent to the main unit and work camp. We are looking for career minded persons who want to join our team of correctional professional. Those selected for hire will attend basic recruit training on-site to prepare you for state certification as a correctional officer while earning a salary and all State of Florida employment benefits. WHAT IT TAKES TO BECOME A CORRECTIONAL OFFICER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Applicants must be at least 19 years of age. • United States Citizen • High School Diploma or Equivalent • Valid Driver’s License • Successfully pass Physical Exam/Drug Test • Good moral Character Applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes after July 1, 1981 No Felony Convictions or a Misdemeanor involving Perjury or False Statement, nor have received a Dishonorable Discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States. In addition, a Misdemeanor Conviction of Domestic Violence Prohibits Employment.
